About the treatment
Platelet-rich plasma may be used as part of care supporting regeneration of scars following a perineal incision, tear or suturing. The aim may be to improve tissue elasticity and nourishment and reduce local tightness or discomfort.
The scope depends on scar type and age and the symptoms reported by the patient.
Scars following a perineal incision, tear or suturing may cause tightness, pulling, local hypersensitivity or discomfort during daily activities and intercourse. Care is selected individually after assessing the scar and surrounding tissues.
Depending on indications, therapy may include local regenerative treatments, platelet-rich plasma PRP or appropriately selected methods supporting tissue elasticity and quality. In some cases, the physician may also recommend pelvic health physiotherapy or additional tests.
The aim is to improve patient comfort and tissue function. The physician determines the type and scope of care following consultation and exclusion of contraindications.
