About the treatment
A dedicated electromagnetic stimulation programme may also be used to intensively stimulate pelvic floor muscles. The patient remains clothed, while properly directed pulses produce repeated muscle contractions.
Therapy may support:
- improved pelvic floor muscle awareness and control,
- strengthening of weakened muscles,
- recovery after pregnancy and childbirth,
- improved core stability,
- complementing pelvic health physiotherapy,
- improved everyday comfort.
The programme may be suitable for both women and men following appropriate assessment.
Urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, prolapse or other symptoms require prior investigation. EMS does not replace gynaecological or urological consultation or pelvic health physiotherapy.
