About the treatment
Platelet-rich plasma is an autologous preparation, meaning it is made from the patient’s own blood. A small amount is taken and centrifuged in a dedicated kit. The resulting plasma, containing concentrated platelets and the growth factors they release, is then administered locally by the physician.
Treatment may support natural regenerative processes, improved tissue quality and elasticity, and local blood supply and hydration. Because material from the patient is used, the risk of an allergic reaction is limited. However, as with any medical procedure, adverse effects such as swelling, tenderness or minor bruising may occur.
Depending on the area, indications and planned extent of treatment, the physician may use a single or double PRP kit.
